The renter is the driver of the jet ski and is responsible for the following:

• Each Jet Ski renter must be at least 18 years old in Florida.boater's safety license and proper photo ID                                                                                                                       .
• 22 years or older requires just proper photo ID.
   (Its still a good idea to have a valid boater's safety license).
• If you do not have a valid boater's safety license we offer a temporary valid boater's safety license test on site.
• Each renter and rider must sign a Liability Wavier form and if the rider is less than 18 years of age they must have a parent or legal guardian sign also.
• After check in, a safety briefing and an instruction video of the rules, controls and features of the Jet Ski. 
• While on the water, the life jacket provided must be worn with the shut off key lanyard attached to the jacket.
• The jet ski tour follows the guide.
  (The guide knows where all the cool things are to see.)
• Bring a smile and have fun.

Frequently asked questions:

1. What if it's a cold day?

a. We operate everyday. Some days are chilly to cold in the winter but you can dress warm. We stay mostly dry, your pants will get wet halfway to your knees. Most people dress in sweat clothes or blue jeans, jackets and wear sneakers that will get wet. We will supply you with motorcycle rainsuits to block the wind from your clothes and leather driving gloves for your comfort. Our coldest day yet was 45deg and everyone reported that they were warm and comfortable. Always dress for the occassion and you will be comfortable.

2. What is the legal driving age?

a. Drivers 22yrs or older need no license. Drivers 14&15yrs can drive with a parent on board. Drivers 16-21yrs must have a Boaters Safety License from any state. Drivers 16-21yrs cannot take a passenger younger than 18yrs and do not need a license when accompanied by a passenger 22yrs or older. You can obtain a Temporary Boater Safety License $3 and take a 25 question multiple choice test.

3. How many people can fit on one Waverunner?

a. Each Waverunner can hold up to 3 people with a max combined weight of 400lbs. Inexperienced drivers should keep the weight down around 350lbs combined. When you approach the weight limit the Waverunner becomes unstable at very slow speeds and you might roll it over. If you get wet, especially in the winter, you will be cold! Most combinations are 2adult or 2adult/1child or 1adult/2child or maybe 3 small adults.

4. What will we see?

a. Most days we see Dolphin up close and they swim right alongside of us. Jake is real good with them and they put on a jumping show most days. There are plenty of shore birds including Pelicans ,Comorans, Herons, Ect. In the summer we see lots of Manatee's and have great encounters at timees although in the winter we can seek out Manatee's. Manatee feel the cold water just like we do and they go a long way from their feeding grounds to find warm water to survive in, like the springs of Homosassa and Crystal River. There is a scenic backcountry ride that is the most exciting part of the trip to most people. You will wind your way through the Homosassa River with wildlife everywhere.

5. What is the difference between Capt. Jake's "Homosassa River Jet Ski Adventures"

a. One of the biggest differences is in how we define ourselves. Capt. Jakes's 3 hour  "Homosassa River Jet Ski Adventures" are just that. You can't have a "Homosassa Adventure" in just ONE hour! Trust me, this is a blast but you will not like the feeling you will get when your one hour "Tour" is ending and you just got the hang of it!  If you make the mistake of booking a Hotel "Tour" you probably would still have fun, never knowing the difference. Many people do. Those who have been on Hotel Tours in the past and have now found Capt. Jake know the difference and unanimously say "we'll never go back". Our two hour "Adventures" are great for those on a budget too!

b. Nature Coast Manatee Tours is a small company and our employees consistantly deliver personal attention to every detail. We know better than anyone else, how to deliver a safe, enjoyable Waverunner "Adventure" while keeping you comfortable in any season. We're very good at anticipating your needs!

c. Hotel Tours are too short to afford any time for shelling or maybe exploring an Indian Mound. In fact you will not be getting off your Waverunner along the way at all.You will make at least one stop and sometimes two or three with Capt Jake. We enjoy taking the time to teach our guests about the local Eco-system and wildlife.  Nobody beats Jake's relationship with the "local" Dolphin and Manatee! The "Back Country" part of our Adventure is phenomenal and could never be experienced in only one hour.
